Episode 303 - Micaiah Hackbarth may be the smartest guy in the room. Respecting the storied history of the Audi 5 cylinder engine, he knew that the new TTRS had the potential to be special. When equipped with the robust DSG and some basic bolt-ons, E85 and stage 2 tuning by Unitronic this car comes alive. Teaming up with Brandon Ranvek for the 2019 One Lap of America lead to an overall win in their first campaign. Listen to how they got started. Now ASM has added a swapped turbo, and a stg3 tune by Unitronic, it became what may be the fastest road car in the paddock, anywhere.

This car is FAST. If you aren’t thinking of buying a new TTRS to compete in motorsport at any level, I think you should reconsider. The car comes with the legendary 2.5L 5-cyl and is rated at a modest 394hp from the factory. When you uncork it, things get out of hand. That drop-in turbo, intercooler, injectors and E85 will get you close to 700whp. Add some Ohlins coilovers, and an off the shelf APR wing, and you end up with a car that is multiple seconds faster around Barber Motorsports Park than the fastest Porsche 911s on the market. I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time riding shotgun with some of the fastest drivers, in the fastest cars in any part of the country. Vettes, Vipers, Evos, nothing compares to this new TTRS. If one shows up at your local event and a capable driver is behind the wheel, just prepare yourself for second place. It’s not going to be close.
